This experimental site contains data and derived products of Connecticut's periodic aerial reconnaissance missions. In 2000, the state obtained a statewide LIDAR data set with a nominal 20' postings (roughly 197 million). These data constitute a massive "point cloud" data set, being a long list of east-north-up triplets in the State Plane Coordinate System Zone 0600 (SPCS83 0600), orthometric heights (NAVD 88) in US Survey feet.
Products consist of:
Raw Points: raw point clouds with a nominal 20-foot posting, projected in Connecticut State Plane, NAD83, and served as quarter-quarter quadrangle tiles. Provided as a space separated text file.
ESRI Points: Provided as an ESRI point cloud.
TIN's: TIN's ESRI TIN's,
DEM's: DEM's gridded elevation provided on a quadrangle basis as ESRI grid files. Elevation data are provided with a 100' cell size. DEM's are generated from TIN's. Provided as ESRI grids.
Contour Maps: Contour maps at ***intervals***. Contours are generated from TIN's. Provided as ESRI shape files.
Quadrangles: quads. Are subdivided USGS quadrangles provided as ESRI shape files.
This is a Beta product and intended for research and demonstration purposes.
